well since the final launch day isnt here yet let me share with you some information about cannons in other ways.
math component:
intial velocity equation: (speed(ft/sec)) (launch angle)
quadratic model: h = -16t2+v0t+h0
A cannonball is shot upward from the upper deck of a fort with an initial velocity of 192 feet per second. The deck is 32 feet above the ground
1) look at picture and see all the work
2) see pictures to see all work
science component:
we used the Gay-Lussacs Law in this project because we are dealing with pressure and temperature. but we can not plug in numbers or anything for we have not yet launched our cannons so we dont know the temperature or pressure of the nerf ball.
moral or not?
the essential question that we are all answering: is it morally right for socities to create mass destruction weapons? most people are going to say no because the weapons are very dangerous. but i think yes, socities should have the choice to create weapons because without them we will be defenseless. not only do our law officials need them but we as individuals also need them for protection. everyone says that "aliens" or other organisms dont exist but how do we know they dont if we have no proof or evidence to prove that. they could really be up on another planet and we would never know. so if the government says it's not right for socities to make mass destruction weapons, what would happen if we were to be invaded by another species? we would be completely defensless against them and they could take over earth.

Our Group Cannon
DAILEY SCHEDULE
Thursday:we are creating our own cannon with a group. in my group is Reina, Adiair, and Alex. we are in the middle of drawing our cannon design on paper and we have had a lot of fun so far.
Friday: we are back and today we are constructing the cannon. right now we are finishing our design and in about 45 minutes we will begin building the actual cannon.
monday: well its been about a week or so and still no launching of the cannons. our cannon looks like the nerf ball should fly high but theres no way to be sure. while we wait for the actual launch day, my group is busy finishing their cannon blogs.
PRELIMARY RESEARCH
Cannon Design: we have a design that we are pretty sure will work and below you can see pictures of our prelimary designs. the design we have choosen realtes to a waterhose because when you make the hole for water to come out of in a waterhose the water comes out faster. so we decided to cut a small hole in one of the lids and place it in one of the tennis ball cans.
Hypothesis: if we use the materials listed below to construct a cannon, then we predict that our cannon will fire a fare distance. we think the nerf ball will go about 6 miles per hour.

Materials:
- 2 tennis ball cans
- a pair of scissors
- an 18'inch piece of tape
- a video camera
- a protractor
- paper
- pencil
- get into a group of the maximaum of four people and start designing your cannon on a sheet of paper.
- once you have your design, get materials
- start with the tennis ball cans and cut one of them in half.
- then take your tape and tape the bottom of the cut can to the other whole can.
- then tape the top of the cut can to the other end of the whole can.
- take one of the lids and cut five small holes in it
- place the lid in the whole can
